In this fun and interactive workshop, we’ll look at how to foster a leadership style that works for you, even in the absence of role models.

We hear a lot about authenticity in leadership, and being our true selves. And yet, for many of us, the there are risks involved in bringing our whole selves to work, especially when we’re part of an underrepresented demographic. What has worked for the leaders that came before us may not work for us, and that’s ok. That’s what makes us unique and valuable.

Learning Outcomes

Participants will come away with the following learning outcomes:

  • Understand the concept of authenticity and how it relates to leadership style
  • Be able to identify what “authentic leadership” looks like and feels like on a personal level
  • Recognize the risks associated with authenticity, particularly for marginalized or under-represented groups
  • Understand ways to effectively mitigate those risks in the short term and long term
  • Identify ways to develop an authentic leadership style in the absence of visible and applicable role models and examples within the organization

Our interactive workshop will span one hour, and the remaining thirty minutes will be reserved for a meet and greet during which participants can get to know each other and connect.

Who is this workshop for?

We welcome everyone to our workshops! Our workshops focus on topics that disproportionately impact underrepresented groups, with content that is useful for everyone. Case in point: we could all benefit from understanding the concepts of authentic leadership, while for some of us, that path has more pitfalls than others.
