Write Your Story. Shape History. Build the Legacy.
An Evening with Lucy Chen
In celebration of Women’s History Month and ahead of International Women’s Day, join us for an intimate and powerful evening hosted by Sheana Hamill in partnership with Sesh CoWorking and the Sesh Foundation, featuring two-time author, founder of Gifted Books, and Founding Member of Chief San Francisco, Lucy Chen.
This conversation is about more than writing a book. It’s about reclaiming narrative power. Lucy Chen, an immigrant from China, award-winning author, and independent publisher, is on a mission to increase the number of women and people of color who become published authors. Through her publishing company, Gifted Books, she empowers professionals, coaches, educators, and leaders to transform their lived experiences and expertise into professionally published works with credibility, confidence, and ownership.
As immigrant founders and community builders, both Lucy and Sheana understand what it means to build from the margins to create opportunity instead of waiting for permission. And that is exactly what this evening represents.
Yet women, and especially women of color, remain underrepresented in traditional publishing and leadership storytelling. Lucy is changing that.
Why This Conversation Matters Now
Lucy will also share insights from her 100-day manuscript camp, a writing community designed to provide structure, accountability, and support for aspiring authors.
- We shape industry conversations. We preserve cultural narratives. We create economic opportunity. We build authority that outlives the moment.
At Gifted Books, Lucy doesn’t just coach writers, she publishes authors. As an independent publisher, she guides writers through every step, from manuscript development to launch under the Gifted Books imprint. Her holistic approach combines writing, leadership, and coaching expertise to help authors discover their authentic voice and create meaningful impact. This evening is for women leaders and aspiring leaders, founders, educators, executives, students and experts who know they have something to say, and are ready to say it boldly.
